A tapestry of native plants: St. Ana heritage garden

As you wander through our garden, you will discover a rich tapestry of native plants and trees, carefully selected for their beauty and their role in the local ecosystem. From aromatic herbs to fruit trees and olive groves, our garden is a celebration of the biodiversity that makes our region so special.

Aronia, also known as chokeberry, is a type of berry that is also grown at St. Ana estate. The plant is native to North America but has been cultivated in Europe for centuries. The berries are high in antioxidants and vitamin C, making them a popular choice for those looking to boost their immune system and overall health.

Studies have shown that aronia berries may have anti-inflammatory properties and can help lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels. They are also a good source of dietary fiber and can aid in digestion.

At St. Ana, the aronia berries are grown organically and are used to make a variety of products, including jams, syrups, and even wine. Visitors can taste all this products at the estate’s degustation ‘fontana’.

But our garden is more than just a pretty sight. It is also a place of learning, where we share our knowledge of sustainable agriculture and the slow food movement with our guests. Through workshops, tastings, and guided tours, we invite you to discover the true flavors of Istria, to reconnect with the land, and to experience the joy of slow living.

At St. Ana, we believe that travel should be about more than just ticking off tourist attractions. It should be a chance to connect with the people, the land, and the culture of the places we visit. That’s why we encourage our guests to take their time, to savor the experience, and to immerse themselves in the beauty and the spirit of our region.

So, come and join us in the St. Ana Heritage Garden, and discover a new way of traveling, one that celebrates the beauty of nature, the richness of our heritage, and the joy of living in harmony with the world around us.

Olive oil and Malvazija wine

Our virgin olive oil is gem of Istrian cuisine, made from the indigenous Belica variety. Our olives are hand-picked and cold-pressed within hours of harvesting, to ensure maximum freshness and nutritional value. The result is a rich, fruity oil with a delicate aroma and a smooth, buttery texture, perfect for drizzling over salads, grilled vegetables, or fresh bread.

Our ecological Malvazija wine is made from carefully selected grapes grown in our own vineyards. Our winemaking philosophy is based on respecting the natural cycle of the vines to ensure the highest quality of the final product. Our Malvazija has a distinctive taste that reflects the unique soil and climate of Istria, and it pairs perfectly with our traditional Istrian dishes.

Finally, we offer natural cosmetics made from olive oil and Istrian lavender, a plant that has been grown in the region for centuries. Our lavender essence is extracted using traditional methods, without the use of chemicals or artificial fragrances. Its soothing scent and relaxing properties make it a perfect gift for yourself or your loved ones.

The olive oil, wine and liqueur ‘fontane’ offer a unique tasting experience, allowing visitors to try a variety of different olive oils, wines and liqueurs in a relaxed and picturesque setting.

Our exclusive products, virgin olive oil, wine and juice are for sale only at St. Ana Estate.
